Frequently Asked Questions
At Wrist Works, we believe in a transparent and fair buying experience. Every watch is priced to sell, not padded for negotiation.
We operate as a volume dealer with thin margins. That’s why we use fixed pricing. We find our customers value transparency and fair pricing above all else. You can buy with confidence knowing the price is right from the start. We strongly believe two people should be able to purchase a watch and both walk away knowing they paid a fair price, without the need to negotiate.
All prices include GST and fully insured overnight shipping. What you see is what you pay.
Are you tired of the frustrating experience of dealing with scammers and time-wasters on platforms like Facebook and Gumtree? Are you in search of a way to reach the widest possible audience and secure the best return for your watch effortlessly? Consider Consignment! It's like having your very own dedicated sales team tirelessly working round the clock to find the perfect buyer for your watch.
Unlike a standard outright sale where profit is derived from the mark-up between acquisition and selling price, we earn a modest commission from the sale.
Unlike many watch dealers, we here at Wrist Works believe every situation is unique.
We work out our commissions with the client on a CASE BY CASE basis.
It's important to note that while your watch is in our care, it is fully protected by our comprehensive stock insurance, providing coverage against potential risks such as theft, fire, and more. We'll also handle the cost of shipping your watch if it doesn't sell within 90 days.
If, for any reason, your watch remains unsold after 90 days, you have the right to request its return or opt for an extension of the consignment contract.
Please be aware that Consignment is a binding contract between the consigner and the consignee. This means you cannot accept offers or sell your watch while it is in our possession, nor can you refuse a sale once it is under our care. You are also unable to recall the watch unless the 90 days has passed. Upon the successful sale of your watch, we will promptly send the proceeds to you through your preferred payment method, minus our specified commission, within 48 hours of receiving the funds. For more detailed information, please review our complete Terms and Conditions.
Selling your watch has never been more convenient! Here's a step-by-step guide to the process:
1. Choose Your Path: Outright Sale or Consignment
First, decide whether you prefer an outright sale for a quicker transaction or consignment for potentially greater returns. Fill out our form, providing us with as many details as possible about your watch. This information helps us offer you a transparent and fair valuation for your timepiece.
2. Swift Response
After you've submitted the form, we'll make it a priority to get back to you within 48 hours.
3. Transparent Pricing
Our commitment to fairness means we'll engage with you to agree on a selling price that reflects the true value of your watch. Our team will communicate with you openly, so you know precisely what we are willing to pay and what we anticipate selling your watch for.
4. Hassle-Free Shipping
It's time to send us your watch, or if you prefer, meet us in person, the best part is that we'll cover the shipping costs. Rest assured, while your watch is in our custody, it is fully protected by our comprehensive inventory insurance.
5. Payment Process
Upon arrival of your watch, we will authenticate it and confirm its condition. Following authentication, we'll initiate the payment process via a bank transfer or your preferred payment method. Please note that authentications are conducted during weekday hours, from 8 am to 4 pm. While we endeavour to complete all authentications and assessments within 48 hours, occasional delays may occur. Your trust and confidence in the process are our utmost priorities.
Yes. Every watch we sell is 100% authentic. We verify serials, movements, components, and provenance before listing any piece.
At Wrist Works, every watch is backed by a clear and straightforward mechanical warranty. Watches under 15 years old come with a 1-year warranty, and watches 15 years and older come with a 6-month warranty. This warranty covers mechanical faults that stop the watch from operating correctly. It doesn’t cover servicing, routine maintenance, water damage, misuse, magnetisation, wear and tear, aftermarket parts, accuracy within normal tolerance, or any issue caused by third-party work.
If the watch still has an active manufacturer warranty, that warranty applies first. For any valid claim under our coverage, we cover shipping both ways, and any approved mechanical repair is handled at our cost. This setup gives you confidence when buying from Wrist Works and reflects the trusted reputation we’ve built in the Australian pre-owned watch market.
